Robert L. (Bob) McKown, age 80, of Chino Valley died at the Whipple VA Hospital in Prescott, Ariz. on Jan. 8, 2009.

Bob was born in Beaver City, Neb. Nov. 27, 1928.

Bob met and married Ella Ellisabeth Burkett while serving in the United States Navy in Pensacola, Fla. Bob moved his family to Arizona in 1954 where he worked as an electrician on all the Dams along the Colorado River. Bob and his family settled in Prescott in 1967 where he worked as a guide for the Game and Fish Department.

Bob is preceded in death by his daughter Mary Francis. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Ella; three sons, Robert, Jr., James (Karen Fann) and Joseph (Sabrina) all of the Prescott area; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at the St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Chino Valley.
