Virginia (Almond) Husak

Virginia (Almond) Husak, 88, of Phoenix, passed away on Jan. 8, 2009. She was born in Plainfield, Ind. to Roy Almond and Vera Gill.

Virginia worked for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis and then as a radio/teletype operator for Trans World Airlines in both Indianapolis and Los Angeles. She married Paul Husak in 1961 and they retired to Prescott, Ariz. in 1975.

Virginia is survived by her daughter Paula Case of Phoenix; stepson David Husak of Pinckney, Mich.; stepson Richard Husak of Hendersonville, N.C.; and stepdaughter Barbara Ditrich of Sherwood, Ark. Virginia has 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Services will be on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield, Ind. Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army National Headquarters, 615 Slaters Lane, P.O. Box 269, Alexandria, Virginia, 22313.

Wyman Cremation and Burial Chapel in Mesa, Ariz. and Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield, Ind. assisted the family with arrangements.
