Shirley Jean (Books) Bergman

Shirley Jean Bergman died on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, in her home in Prescott, Ariz. Born on Sept. 11, 1930, in Elkader, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Josephine (Greeney) Books. She was 78 years old.

Shirley was a member of the Preceptor Alpha Delta Sorority. She loved children, reading, sewing, outdoor activities and travel. She was most proud of her family and life together with her husband and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Edward; daughter Sherry Erramouspe of Rock Springs, Wyo.; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Lisa Bergman of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; grandchildren Kacie, Alvin and Joeline; great-grandchildren Allyson, Josephine, Kayla and Alvin "A.J." Jr.; and sister Nancy Hance of Cottonwood, Ariz.

A celebration of Shirley's life will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner of Cortez and Carleton, Prescott. Following the service, a reception will be at Hillside Church of God, 937 Ruth St., Prescott.
