MaryPat (Ganes) Garry

MaryPat Garry passed away on Jan. 3, 2009, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 10, 1939, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Jerry and Mary Ganes.

MaryPat attended elementary and high school in Phoenix. She later received her Bachelor and Master Degrees from Arizona State University. After that she taught business classes at Moon Valley High School in Phoenix until her retirement in June 1993.

MaryPat served on the board of directors of Desert Schools Federal Credit Union from 1989 to 2009. She served in various positions during her tenure including chairman of the board.

After retiring from teaching, MaryPat and her husband, Jack, moved from Phoenix to Prescott, Ariz., where she became involved in various activities and made many friends. One of the activities she enjoyed and loved was quilting.

MaryPat is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jack Garry; her three children, Colleen Burkhart, Patricia Weite and Brian Garry; seven grandchildren, Cassie, Alissa, Jessie, Leonard, Kimberly, Melanie and Kelli; two great-grandchildren, Jade and Krysta; and her brother William Ganes. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by them as well as all of her many friends.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley, Ariz. All of her friends and family are invited.
