The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Sunday, March 11, 2007 William F. Carnell William F. "Bill" Carnell, 89, of Camp Verde, Ariz., died Feb. 27, 2007, in Cottonwood. He was born Dec. 12, 1917, in Halls, Tenn. He served in World War II in the Navy Seabees, stationed in New Caledonia and Guadalcanal. He was married to the late Mary Ellen Carnell. He was the former president of Operating Engineers 428. He lived in the Verde Valley for the past 10 and a half years. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Joy; daughters Jane Haddix and Gwen Csoka; stepsons Gary and David Rodes; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for March 18 at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1825 N. Alvernon in Tucson, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association are appreciated. |
