Gina (Watson) Kevane

Posted 2012-03-15 by Pat Wilson
Gina Watson Kevane, born on July 27, 1973, a native Arizonan, was lost to us in this life on December 23, 2005.

She was raised in the Phoenix area, and from the beginning, showed her talents as an athlete. She was a Lady Knight at St. Mary's High School in Phoenix where she played basketball, achieved athletic and academic honors and met her husband, Christopher.

She graduated cum laude from Arizona State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Despite any of her other accomplishments here on earth, it was her nurturing spirit, the joy in her babies and her cherished family life that defined her. Gina's joy of caring, primarily the care for her three sons, motivated her in all aspects of life. Gina's sparkle, strength, determination, and loyalty attracted all that were fortunate enough to come into her life. Those of us lucky enough to know Gina were inspired to be more, but we always knew she loved and accepted all of us no matter who we were. She showed us how to take the chance, say the words and do the deed, and it made us all the more courageous. Whether she was dancing in the living room after school, feeding the horses by the road with her sons or going to the beach, she did it with a zest for life that few of us are blessed to have. For all of us so close to Gina, it was her final challenge in which she showed us her ultimate strength and determination to live life. Her family is grateful to have witnessed this courage to try and remain with us, and we are all moved to attempt to have the same enthusiasm in life. Gina, you are gone from us physically, but you will be, forever and always, here with us.

She is survived by Christopher, her husband; her sons, Remington, Jackson and Colton; along with her mother, Judy Watson and brothers John (Pam) and Doug (Paulina).

Visitation and Rosary was at Carr-Tenney Mortuary, 2621 South Rural Road, Tempe. Funeral Services were at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2121 S. Rural Road, Tempe.
