Louis Rosario (Sal) Mennuti

Louis "Sal" Rosario Mennuti, age 67, died June 20, 2005 in Humboldt, Arizona. He was born Feb. 10, 1938 in Irvington, New Jersey to Louis J. and Josephine (Caradonna) Mennuti.

Sal worked at the Prescott VA Hospital as a registered nurse. He was a caregiver to many patients through the years. During his life he also was a language professor teaching at Yavapai College, Tri-City Prep School and ASU in Tempe, Ariz.

Sal was a life long student and teacher. He mentored a multitude of people and in 2004 Sal was honored as "Teacher of the Year" for Yavapai County.

Sal was involved in many local activities, including Toastmasters, and facilitating two book clubs in the area. At one time he tended bar for the Elks Club in Prescott Valley, Ariz. and was an actor in a local theater group. Reading, music, especially opera, were Sal's passions and he also was a great Pinochle player.

Sal is survived by his brother Edward, and his wife Cory of Amsterdam, Holland; sisters, Lorraine and her husband F.M. Seaman of Montrose, Colo., Josephine and her husband Paul Peloso of Strawberry, Ariz., and Diana Dodson of Mesa, Ariz.; and 16 nieces and nephews.

Services in honor of Sal will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 30, 2005 at St. Germaine Catholic Church in Prescott Valley, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to: The Sal Mennuti Scholarship Fund, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 825 Miller Valley Road, Prescott, Ariz., 86301. Donations may also be made at any Wells Fargo Bank location.

The family was assisted by Sunrise Funeral Home & Crematory in Prescott Valley, Ariz.
