Mary Mabel (Kirkpatrick) Baylin

Mary Mabel Baylin, born Aug. 31, 1916, passed awayon April 16, 2004, in Prescott, Ariz. She was bom in Fonzo, W.Va., to Wilbert N. and Effie B. (Hardman) Kirkpatrick.

M a r y attended Nursing College and was a registered nurse for over 40 years. She worked for different hospitals and nursing homes. She most enjoyed working with the babies and children. She retired in 1979.

Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Prescott, and previously was a member of Saint Germaine in Prescott Valley. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, in which she ministered to the sick in the hospitals, nursing homes, and visited shut-ins. She was a member of the Grandmother's Club and Mi Casa Su Casa. She volunteered for Prescott Valley Samaritan Village, Prescott Valley Library and Neighbor to Neighbor, until this past year, when she had to give up driving.

Mary has been a member of BetaSigmaPhi for 20 years, which is an organization to unite wsomen in their community for friendship, cultural development, and to help others in need. Mary was a current member of Laureate Alpha Omicron Charter and previously belonged to Preceptor Alpha Delta. Mary held various offices and was Chapter Sweetheart in 2002. She recently received her Master's Degree. Mary so loved all of her sorority sisters and all the joy they shared with her.

Most of all, Mary was truly a beloved mother and grand-mother. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. They will miss her and cherish her memory forever.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William James Baylin, in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Kirk Kirkpatrick and Arkie Kirkpatrick, and sister, Margie Sterner, also numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary is survived by her son, Bill Baylin of San Diego, Calif.; her daughter, Teresa Delgrolice and son-in-law, Gary Delgrolice of Prescott; her brother, Chet Kirkpatrick and wife, May, of Florida; her grandsons, Anthony Delgrolice and wife, Brandy Delgrolice, Aaron Delgrolice and Brett Baylin; and one grand-daughter, Blake Baylin.

A Funeral Mass and Rosary will be held at Sacred Heart Church, at 12:30 p.m., on Friday the 23rd of April, with Father Daryl officiating. A luncheon, provided by Sacred Heart Funeral Ministries, will be held at the church, following the service.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Mary's honor to the YRMC Hospice Restricted Fund, P.O. Box 26565, Prescott Valley, Ariz., 86312-6565.

The family wishes to thank everyone that has helped us through this, most difficult time.
