| In the early morning hours of March 4, 2004, Genevie Hanson Barraclough made her final transition. She greatly anticipated a joyful reunion with loved ones long missed. Mom was born to Ola and Bengta Paulson Hanson on July 23, 1917 in American Fork, Utah. She was the youngest of seven children. She had a childhood of hard work, Swedish food and small town escapades which provided her with many scary, funny and exciting stories. She enthusiastically shared these with us around family campfires or in darkened bedrooms. Mom could never really get the punch line to a joke right but she could tell a childhood story to perfection. As a young adult she attended and graduated from Quish School of Beauty Culture. She spent the next 60 years putting those skills to use. Most notably, she provided a traveling beauty salon to many Salt Lake area rest homes. Her family and friends were recipients of many haircuts, perms, and the most glorious pedicure/foot massage known to man. She married Clyde L. Barraclough on July 11, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had seven children but mom's heart was huge and she was always looking for those she felt would benefit from the experience of living with a large family in a very small space. Over the years numerous foster kids and Indian Placement students were given that opportunity. Mom spent the last 30 years of her life in Phoenix where she had many dear friends and gained a reputation as a loving care-giver to anyone who needed help. She was preceded in death by her only son, Lynn, a son-in-law Craig Landvatter and by Clyde. She is survived by a sister, Leda Thorn; her children Maren (Wayne) Lewis, Jeanie Wilson, Rhonda Oswald, Margaret Landvatter, Debbie (Dan) Bush and Becky Oberg; 40 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. Sincere and deep gratitude to Maren and Wayne for their loving care of mom for the past year. Mom, we know we'll see you again. Until then we'll just play it by ear. Funeral Service Mt.
