Manuel was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Manuel came to Prescott with his parents in 1919. He attended Miller Valley School.

In 1933, he married Nellie Martinez. They raised a family and had a truck farm in Williamson Valley, delivering produce to Phoenix warehouses and grocery stores in the Prescott area.

In 1975, he married Lolita and continued working the farm, for as long as his health allowed. He was a strong, kindhearted, trusting person. His handshake was his bond. He loved to deer hunt, play the guitar, and sing. He enjoyed recounting his boxing escapades as a teenager. Manuel was an avid rodeo fan. He also raised horses, cattle, and pigs in conjunction with growing alfalfa and produce.

Even as his health ebbed, he continued to have a glow in his eyes, and never lost his sense of humor. He will be missed, but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie; his sons, Manuel "Junior" and Edward "Bo"; and his siblings, Ramon, Arthur, Alex, Mercy and Chonita Chavez.

He is survived by his wife, Lolita, his children Theresa Stazenski, Frances Petty, Esther Brown, Manuel and Nathan; his step-daughter, Betti Estrada; his step-grandchildren, Jessica and Roberto; his siblings, Joe Parra, Dolores Moreno, and Edna Hernandez; 15 grand-
children; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

The visitation will be Friday, March 26th, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Hampton Funeral Home, promptly followed by the Rosary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 27th, followed by an interment service at Mt. View Cemetery. The reception will be at Granite Creek Park, at 11:30 a.m.

Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
