Robin Rowell Cherry, 78, formerly of Prescott, born Feb. 16, 1928 in Joliet, Ill., died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in Santa Monica, Calif.

Service and interment in Tucson, Ariz., are pending.

Robin Rowell Cherry, 78, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2006 in Santa Maria, Calif. Born to Robert Strong Rowell and Mignon Sale Bryant Rowell, Robin moved to Tucson as a young child and grew up on the family owned BAR B R Guest Ranch on East Broadway.

She graduated from Tucson High School in 1946 and attended the University of Arizona, where she belonged to Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.

She was a member of the Junior League, an active member of St Luke's Episcopal Church in Prescott, and was a member of its vestry and alter guilds. She volunteered for numerous organizations including the P.E.O. of Prescott. She permanently moved to California in 2001 to live with her daughter and her family. Robin was loving and kind to all she knew and was known for her grace and beauty.

She is survived by her life-long friend Peter E. Howell of Phoenix, who was her husband during the years she raised her children; her son Robert Cherry (Corienne) of Prescott; daughter Jennifer J. Cherry Holston (Jefferson); grandson Chris Cherry (Julie); granddaughters Brittany Cherry, Heidi Holston and Haley Holston; and one great granddaughter, Avah Cherry.

The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2006 at St. Phillips in the Hills Episcopal Church in Tucson. Memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of America.
