The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday February 6, 2006 "Her children arise and call her blesse", Proverbs 31:28 Yvonne (Bowen) Fine joyfully entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Dec. 12, 2005, at her son's home in Farmington, N.M. Her last days were filled with love and laughter in the company of all nine of her children and many of her grandchildren. Yvonne was born in Racine, Wisc., on July 12, W24. While still toddler, she moved to Prescott with grandmother. Yvonne had a deep appreciation of English literature and art and expressed that love through her own poetry, painting and pencil sketchings. In 1976, she moved back to her childhood home, continuing always to be involved with her family. Over the years she could be found working downtown at Steward's Shoes, the Yellow Front store or Ben Franklin Crafts. While growing up in Prescott, she was an adventurous horseback rider, learned the love of flying at the controls of a Piper Cub and was an avid snow skier with the Preskimos, the first ski club in Arizona. She was a 1942 graduate of Prescott High School and a student at Northern Arizona Teacher's College until enlisting in the Navy in 1945, where she was stationed in California. She lived in San Jose, Calif., for 31 years devoting most of her life to doing what she loved best, being a mother. Yvonne is survived by her nine children; Cathy, Jeff, Greg, Meg, Marie, of Prescott, Toni, Tex. Matt, Bonnie of California, and Andy of New Mexico; 36 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; her sisters Shirley Reed and Joyce Lugo; and an abundance of nieces and nephews. Yvonne will be missed by so many and remembered by most for her wit and wisdom and especially for her love for her family. A Celebration of Yvonne's life will be held at Calvary Chapel, Prescott, on Friday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m. Clear was my soul, My deeds were free Honor was called my name, I fell not back from fear, Nor followed after fame Joying to live, I joyed to die. -Robert Louis Stevenson Information provided by survivors. |
