Robert F. Whitman, 44, was born in Bloomington, Illinois on June 7, 1962.

Bob attended Central Catholic High School before finishing his education at Arizona State University.

The sudden death of Bob on July 14, 2006 has left a permanent void in all our lives. The devoted husband and father of four, son, brother, and friend unselfishly gave of his time and talents to all who knew him. Bob's laid back style, generous heart, and incredible love for his family touched us all. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School will deeply miss their favorite accountant, substitute teacher, coach, and constant helper.

Bob is survived by his wife, Colleen Nunez-Whitman, and his children, David (16), James (J.J.-14), Bridget (12), and Thomas (8); his parents, Burt and Katie, his 4 sisters, Ann (Jim) Brandt, Mary Lou (Jack) Unerich, Kathy (Bob) Waropay, and Jane Whitman; 2 brothers, David (Peggy) Whitman, and John (Brenda) Whitman; 15 nieces and nephews, and 3 great nieces. Bob is also survived by his in-laws, Tommy and Mary Ann Nunez.

Visitation with Rosary and Funeral Mass were held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2121 S. Rural Rd., Tempe.

Interment at St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Whitman Children's Education Fund, c/o Tommy Nunez, Jr., Chase Bank, # 2338927953.
