| Sara Dolorez Baker Jenkins (Deekie), 82, was a beloved mother of Charles, Philip, Geoffrey, and Cynthia; sister to Juanita Carothers, Alice Wright (dec), and brother James Baker (dec); wonderful aunt and grandmother to many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Born and raised in Chicago, with a teaching career that spanned over 50 years, relocated to the Phoenix area in 1962. As a valley resident, Dolorez attained a Masters in Music Education at Arizona State University in 1971, while working as a music/elementary school teacher in the Roosevelt School District. She retired in 1991, after 28 years of exemplary service to her community. She will be missed. A celebration of her life washeld at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 1923 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers, make donations to cancer and diabetes research in her name. Published in The Arizona Republic from 7/30/2006 - 8/1/2006. |
