Sara Dolorez (Deekie) (Baker) Jenkins

Sara Dolorez Baker Jenkins (Deekie), 82, was a beloved mother of Charles, Philip, Geoffrey, and Cynthia; sister to Juanita Carothers, Alice Wright (dec), and brother James Baker (dec); wonderful aunt and grandmother to many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Born and raised in Chicago, with a teaching career that spanned over 50 years, relocated to the Phoenix area in 1962.

As a valley resident, Dolorez attained a Masters in Music Education at Arizona State University in 1971, while working as a music/elementary school teacher in the Roosevelt School District. She retired in 1991, after 28 years of exemplary service to her community. She will be missed.

A celebration of her life washeld at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 1923 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers, make donations to cancer and diabetes research in her name.
