| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, January 24, 2009 Robert Lee McClymonds, 69, died Jan. 6, 2009, at home surrounded by family and friends after battling cancer for over a year. He was born Sept. 1, 1939, in Prospect, Pa., to Fred and Dorothy McClymonds. Robert ("Bob") grew up in Prescott and graduated from Prescott High School. He ran McClymonds Plumbing after his father retired in 1972. He moved his family in 1981 to Homer, Alaska, where he owned and operated several businesses including Kachemak Bay Collectibles. In 1997 he moved back to Arizona and settled in Chino Valley. He spent his final few years as the groundskeeper of Chino Valley High School, where he was loved and respected by many. He was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Chino Valley. He had many passions including classic cars, playing cards, bowling and all things collectible. He was a devoted and beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was as unique and special as they come and will be sorely missed. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, LaQuita of Chino Valley; mother Dorothy McClymonds of Prescott; sister and brother-in-law Colleen and Gary Wilson of Prescott; brother and sister-in-law Kimble and Rose McClymonds of Prescott; daughter Cyndra McClymonds of Prescott; daughter and partner Robin McClymonds and Jan Merriman of Lakewood, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law Heidi and Jeff Berglund of Glendale, Ariz.; son and daughter-in-law Jeremy and Sheila McClymonds of Chandler, Ariz.; son Carl Dendy of Chino Valley; son and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Rita Dendy of Hubbard, Ore.; two foster daughters, Irina Carroll and Vassa Motes; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Amelia and Ben Hamilton of Monterey, Calif., and Michelle and Andy Hillsman of Killeen, Texas; grandchildren Kendra Dula of Olympia, Wash., Hannah Berglund of Glendale, Ariz., Jeff and Gabrielle Lopez of Chandler, Ariz., Carly and Cyle Dendy of Kenai, Alaska, Lori Mae Dendy of Rifle, Colo., and Ernie and Meletina Dendy of Corvalis, Ore.; one great-granddaughter and one due in February 2009. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at First Southern Baptist Church in Chino Valley (located on Highway 89). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the building fund for the First Southern Baptist Church of Chino Valley. Information provided by survivors. |
