Elizabeth Ida Wamsley, 91, of Prescott, Ariz., born March 31, 1917, in Jackson, Ill., died Jan. 21, 2009, at Good Samaritan Prescott Village.

A celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez St., Prescott.

Burial will be at Bixby Cemetery in Bixby, Okla.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family.

Elizabeth Ida Wamsley passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Prescott Village. She was born March 31, 1917 in Jackson, Illinois; the daughter of Oliver & Bessie (Riley) Gillespie. She was 91 years old.

Elizabeth lived in Oklahoma where she attended church and was a member of the Woman’s Pilot Club. After moving to Arizona, she was involved in radio with Arizona Broadcasters Association. She enjoyed gardening, her family, and was a big sports fan. Her favorite team was the Phoenix Suns which at any opportunity she was at a game or watching it on the television. Elizabeth was most proud of her son Cody. She will be greatly missed.
