Charley Piper

Born in Clemenceau, Arizona on Feb. 2, 1936
Departed on Jan. 19, 2009 and resided in Cottonwood, AZ.

Charles N. "Charley' Piper, 72, of Cottonwood died January 19, 2009.

After winning a battle with throat cancer in 1975, it returned on December 31, 2007. He fought it valiantly all of 2008. While surrounded by his loving family he made his journey to Glory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Della Piper, two brothers, Earl and Ira Piper, a nephew Kent Piper and a grandson, Steve Phelps.

He was a devoted husband of fifty years to his wife Mary (Kurtz) Piper and a cherished father to his children, Denny, Jody, Clark, Clint & Teri; also eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24 at 9 a.m. in the Westcott Funeral Home with the funeral following at 10 a.m.

Immediately following the service, there will be a POTLUCK at the Clemenceau Museum and a time of remembering and honoring "Cowboy Charley".
