Florence A. Smith

Florence A. Smith, 91, a long time Ash Fork and Prescott resident, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, in Prescott, Arizona.

Florence was born on December 31, 1915, in Union, Illinois to Gustav and Lillie Hensel. She married John P. Smith and they had four sons. The family moved from Illinois to Prescott in 1960. Florence was active in the American Legion Auxiliary (45 years), the DAV Thrift Store and her church before illness prevented her from continuing.

Florence was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, John P. Smith; son, Charles; three brothers; and grandson, David.

Florence is survived by sons, John (Paula) of Parks, Ariz., David (Karen) of Lucerne Valley, Calif., Mark (Tracey) of Houston, Texas; sister, Lillie Samlaska of Mesa, Ariz.; brother, Art Hensel of Marengo, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave. Prescott, Arizona.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church at 231 Smoke Tree Lane Prescott, Arizona.

Services entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary.
