Paul Tavasci, Jr., 82, of Clarkdale, Ariz. died January 5 in Cottonwood. He was born March 3, 1926 in Jerome, Ariz., the son of the late Paul and Mary (Sutti) Tavasci.

He attended Clarkdale schools. He entered the Army and served during World War II.

Mr. Tavasci was a partner of the Clarkdale dairy and was owner of Tavasci Transportation. He was past Mayor of Clarkdale. He also was a member of the VFW 7400 and helped establish the post. He loved RVing.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Minnie Tavasci; sons Paul Tavasci III of Arizona and Pat (Karen) Tavasci of Page Springs; a daughter, Irene (Herb) Freeman of Clarkdale; a brother John (Phyllis) Tavasci, Sr. of Clarkdale; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 8 in the Valley View Cemetery at 1 PM. VFW 7400 will render military honors.
