| The Gazette, Colorado Springs, Colorado Monday, May 9, 1994 LORRAINE C. JOYCE, 75, a retired Colorado Springs schoolteacher, died April 29, 1994, at her home in Longmont. A memorial service has already been held in Longmont. Mrs. Joyce was born Sept. 5, 1918, in Detroit to Chandace and L. Blanche Spaulding Caldwell. She was married May 5, 1943, in Cleveland to Joseph H. Joyce, who is deceased. She is survived by a daughter, Shannon, and a granddaughter, both of Louisville. Mrs. Joyce began teaching in 1964 in Ohio. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1969 and taught at Wilson and Fremont elementary schools until retiring to Prescott, Ariz., in 1983. She was a member of Vista Grande Community Church, the First Baptist Church in Longmont and a hiking club in Arizona. She was a Friend of Longmont Library and taught adult education in Longmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boulder County Hospice, 1510 9th Ave., Longmont, Colorado, 80501. |
