The Arizona Daily Star, Tucson, Arizona Thursday, January 19, 1995 Mary Gordon Olsen, a longtime supporter of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and its annual Cotillion Ball, died Monday. She was 82. A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 4 p.m. in Trinity Presbyterian Church, 400 E. University Blvd. Private burial will follow. Olsen earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Arizona in 1939 and taught elementary school in Prescott and Phoenix. She and her husband, Holden Olsen, lived from 1975 to 1980 in American Samoa, where he was a bank president. She served on the board of directors for the YWCA in the late 1950s, was past president of the Assistance League of Tucson and the Tucson Symphony Association, and served on the Symphony Cotillion Ball advisory committee for more than 30 years. She is survived by her husband of 52 years; daughters Judy Taylor of Orange, Calif., and Kathy Niles of Tucson, and by five grandchildren.
