Ed Spenrath

Ed Spenrath, 72, a resident of Sedona, Ariz., died Nov. 20 after a two-year battle with ALS disease.

Mr. Spenrath was a civil engineer who worked in oil refineries, including six years with Aramco in Saudi Arabia, before retiring with his wife in Sedona in 1987. He was a fine craftsman at gemstone cutting and was very knowledgeable about minerals, fossils and gemstones. He was involved over the years with Ramsey's Rocks and Minerals.

Mr. Spenrath is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra; a daughter, Barbara Ann Spenrath of Calif.; sons, Ed Jr. and wife, Marchael; Chris Spenrath, of Sedona; and Brian and wife, Karen; and a granddaughter and three grandsons.
