Born in Elgin, Illinois on Dec. 7, 1919.
Departed on Jun. 4, 2004 and resided in Clarkdale, Ariz.

Buddy R. Lay, 84, of Clarkdale, Ariz., died June 4. He was born December 7, 1919 in Elgin, Illinois.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a graduate of Elgin High School. He was a retired foreman Irnonworker and worked through Ironworker Local #393 in Illinois.
Mr. Lay was a member of the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Cottonwood, Ariz. He enjoyed working with stained glass.

His wife, Virginia Lay preceded him in death.

He is survived by Michael Lay and Scott Lay, both of Elgin, Illinois; a sister, Lilia Speyers; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 22 in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Cave Creek (Phoenix) at 11 a.m.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 14 S. Main St., Suite F, Cottonwood, Ariz., 86326.
