Born in Tarentum, Pennsylvania on Sep. 11, 1926.
Departed on Aug. 13, 2008 and resided in Cottonwood, Ariz.

Philip "George" Chambon, 81 of Cottonwood, died Wednesday August 13, 2008. He was the son of Philip and Margaret (Gregel) Chambon; born September 11, 1926 in Tarentum, Pennsylvania.

"George" grew up in Pennsylvania; served his country during World War II with the Army Air Corp. He met and married Violet Ruth in 1944. "George" and Violet had only moved to Cottonwood two weeks before his death to reside with their daughter, Linda Lee Chambon-Gay of Cottonwood, Ariz.

"George" is survived by his wife of 64 years, Violet Ruth; sons Philip George II (Deana) of Christmas, Fla.; Daniel Patrick (Dianne) of Glendale, Ariz.; Terrance Gregel (Kathy) of Tarentum, Penn.; Timothy Michael (Mary Jo) of Natrona Heights, Penn.; Julius Francis (Chong Cha) of Tarentum, Penn. and Reno, Nev.; Earl Spence Duncan (Robin) of Dallas, Texas; and daughters Linda Lee Chambon-Gay of Cottonwood, Ariz.; Gwendolyn Marie (Bill) Case of Vancouver, Wash.; Margaret Mary (Pegi) (John) Woodman of Brakenridge, Penn.; Deborah Lynn (David) of Freeport, Penn.; 27 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; also a sister Mary Elizabeth Petit of Sarver, Penn.. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother; Charles B. Chambon, one grandson Kenneth Duane Gay and one granddaughter Julie Case and one great granddaughter Hanna Case.

"George" was a life member in the American Legion, VFW, Eagles and the Elks.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2008 at 10:30am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 700 Bill Grey Road, Cottonwood, Ariz.

Inurnment will be at All Souls Cemetery in Cottonwood, Ariz.
