Elizabeth M. Russell Born in Phoenix on Dec. 4, 1917. Departed on April 25, 2007 and resided in Sedona, Ariz. Elizabeth M. Russell, 89, resident of Sedona, Ariz., passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 in Cottonwood, Ariz. She was born on December 4, 1917 to Ernest and Grace (Williams) Lawrence in Phoenix, Ariz., where she grew up, attended and graduated from Creighton High School. Following which, she attended Tempe Normal, now known as ASU. Elizabeth worked for the Scottsdale Unified School District as a bus driver. She was not just any bus driver; she drove the school bus for the children with special needs, and did so for 18 years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ. Elizabeth enjoyed ceramics, and collecting angels, dolls, and southwestern art. She was a lover of animals, the Christmas holiday and jewelry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Russell; a son, Ernest Russell; her granddaughter, Pammy Berry; and two son-in-laws, Frank Heart and Jim Berry. Elizabet;s daughter, Betty Joanne Heart of Cornville, Ariz. survives her, as do four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Westcott Funeral Home on Monday, April 30, 2007. The visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at the Sedona Community Cemetery, Sedona, Arizona. Donations may be made in Elizabeth’s name to the Verde Valley Humane Society, 1502 W. Mingus Ave., Cottonwood, Ariz., 86326.
