Goebel Edward (Ed) Pitzer

Goebel Edward "Ed" Pitzer, born April 12, 1924, passed away at RTA Hospice in Payson, Ariz., on Jan.21, 2006. He was born in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.

He served in the Navy during World War II. After serving in the Navy, he made his home in Chicago, Ill., Ed moved his family to Arizona in 1957 and raised four children in Tempe, Ariz..

In 1984 he moved to Paulden with, his wife and then to Star Valley, Ariz. in 2004.

Ed is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cleo C. Pitzer; his eldest brother Ardel Pitzer of Albany, Ore., and his three children Terry Pitzer of Coolidge; Burt Pitzer of Mesa, and Maggie Meares (Sean) of Payson; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, and two days prior to his own death by his daughter Carol (Pitzer) Olive.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were made by MessingerFuneral Home, Payson, Ariz.
