Born in Townley, Alabama on April 2, 1927.
Departed on May 30, 2008 and resided in Camp Verde, Ariz.

Lee P. Hulsey, 81, resident of Camp Verde, passed away at home on Saturday, May 30, 2008. He was the son of Solan M. Hulsey, Sr. and Lura (Keeton) Hulsey; born April 2, 1927 in Townley, Alabama.

Lee was a WWII United States Navy Veteran holding the rank of Seaman Second Class on the V-6USNR and received the Victory Medal. He worked in Flagstaff for the Navajo Army Depot from 1946-1970; following which he was self employed. In 1983 Lee took his retirement and moved to Camp Verde, where he made his final home.

Lee was an avid rifle and archery bow hunter, fisherman, trapper, and golfer. He was also an excellent gardener. Lee loved the outdoors and he extended that to his children and grandchildren by teaching them to also love and appreciate nature's beauty and grandeur. He also spent much of his time as a trainer of Champion German Short Hair Pointers.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Buddy Hulsey and Earnest Hulsey; and his sister, Willie Lawson. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Elberta (Coon) Hulsey of Camp Verde; three daughters, Martha (Ed) Morgan of Scottsdale, Ariz., Janet Wolf of Yuma, Ariz., and Lois (Armand) Slason of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Robert Hulsey of Camp Verde, Ariz., and Solan (Jean) Hulsey Jr. of Colorado; two sisters, Irene Savage of California, and Lonell Soos of Florida; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and last, but never least, his dog, Lila.

A Memorial Service will be held in his honor at Westcott Funeral Home on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.
