Edith Johnson Died Tuesday

Edith P. Johnson, 54, died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. She was born Sept. 20, 1919 in Douglas, Ariz., and moved to Prescott in 1921, to San Jose, Calif. in 1960 and Cottonwood last February.

She served with the Women's Army Corps during World War II, attaining the rank of sergeant.

She is survived by her widower, William O. Johnson, of Cottonwood, Ariz. and one brother, Dr. V. W. Powell, of Decatur, Ill.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Ruffner Funeral Home in Prescott, followed by cremation at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott, Ariz.
