The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, February 03, 2009 Bruce Thornburg, 68, born Oct. 9, 1940 in Boston, Mass., passed away Feb. 3, 2009 at the Hospice Family Care In Patient Unit in Prescott, Ariz. No services are planned at this time. The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. -------------------------- Bruce Thornburg, age 68, of Prescott, died February 3, 2009 at the Hospice Family Care InPatient Unit in Prescott. Bruce was born October 9, 1940 in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to Arizona when he was a year old. A lifelong resident of Arizona, Bruce graduated from Scottsdale High School in 1960 and graduated with distinction from A.S.U. in 1965. He served in the Air Force as a computer maintenance officer at Mt. Laguna in Southern California then returned to Motorola, Inc. where he worked his entire career as an Engineer. Through the years his hobbies included Ham radio operation, astronomy, photography, piloting glider planes, anything associated with electronics and cryptology. His caring presence will be missed by his daughter Melissa Thornburg; former spouse and friend of many years, Nancy Van der Voort, both of Prescott; and Ray Wilton, nephew, of Yucca Valley, California and his friends. No services are planned at this time. Hampton Funeral Home, Prescott, Arizona. |
