Gregory Walthius, 56, of Paulden, Ariz., born Aug. 27, 1952 in Santa Monica, Calif., passed away Feb. 1, 2009 at the VAMC in Prescott.

Gregory Walthuis passed away on February 1, 2009 at VAMC in Prescott, Arizona. He was born August 27, 1952 in Santa Monica, California; the son of Frederick and Susan Walthuis.

Gregory married his wife Sylvia Jacquez on August 12, 1978. They shared many happy years of marriage together.

He worked as a mechanic in the heavy equipment industry after retiring from the Navy. Gregory served his country proudly and was proud to have been a veteran.

He was a resident of Arizona since 1991 and previously of California.

Gregory enjoyed everything about the outdoors, especially the beach. Malibu beach in California was a favorite of his, along with camping, fishing, hiking, and canoeing. He was most proud of his family and all of his life's achievements. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia; daughters, Dana Marie Martin of Prescott, Ariz., and Rebecca Ann Hardy of Chino Valley, Ariz.; son-in-law John Hardy of Chino Valley, Ariz.; cousin Dean Walthuis and many other family members.
