MYRTLE EASTER Death Saturday

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 14, at 11 a.m. from First Christian Church of Winterset for Myrtle L. Easter, 77, who died Saturday, March 11, 1978, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born August 12, 1900, in Atlanta, Nebr., the daughter of Emmett and Hattie Hoyt Haynes.

Mrs. Easter was a housewife, a resident of this county for 50 years. She was married to Leland Saum on September 4, 1920. Her marriage to Elza M. Easter took place May 6, 1945, in Norwalk, Iowa. Mrs. Easter was affiliated with the First Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Elza; a son Jack L. Easter of Spencer, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Virginia) Jones of Winterset and Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Provost of Creston; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Kirkwood of Guthrie Center, Iowa and Mrs. Vergie Coffman of Mesa, Arizona. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, William Haynes Saum, and a brother.

Officiating at Tuesday's service was Rev. David Livingston. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
