| Winterset Madisonian Winterset, Iowa August 8, 2001 ROSS G. WASSON, Russell Ross G. Wasson, 91, of Russell died of complications of cancer Aug. 4, 2001 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 8) at the Faith United Methodist Church in Russell with the Rev. Larry Prosser officiating. Graveside serices were held at 2 p.m. today at Winterset Cemetery. Ross Wasson was born June 7, 1910, to John and Minerva (Stump) Wasson of DeSoto. He attended DeSoto High school. On Dec. 26, 1933, he married Lyla Mae Lytle in Princeton, Mo. A farmer, Ross was a member of the Faiath United Methodist Church in Russell and Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, and a brother. He is survived by a daughter, Ellen Fear (husband Glenn) of Tipton; a son, Gerald Wasson, and Bobbie Phillips of Chariton; and niece, Dorothy Tait of Sun City, Ariz. Funeral arrangements were handled by Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. |
