The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, February 2, 2006 Alfred Tomson, 86, died early Monday morning, Jan. 30, 2006, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Ariz. He was born April 30, 1919, in Trinidad, Colo., the son of Harry and Gladys (Weddell) Tomson Griffiths. Al served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He met and later married his first love, Ruth Brennaman, on June 29, 1946. Al was preceded in death by Ruth. He worked as an Engineer in the aerospace industry for most of his life and retired some years ago. Al was a member of the Westside Christian Church in Prescott and the Professional Bull Riders Association; he was also a member of Ernes Love Post 6 American Legion in Prescott and was a former Commander of the Yavapai County Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed spending time with his horses and tinkering with his cars. Alfred was a proud family man who dedicated his life to his family. He was proud of his family and friends. Al is survived by his daughter Jeri Tomson of Tempe, Ariz., and his best friend and love, Donna Thompson of Prescott, Ariz. A Celebration of Al's life will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at the Westside Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, Al's family suggests contributions be made in Alfred's name to the Yavapai Humane Society, 1625 Sundog Ranch Road, Prescott, Ariz., 86301.
