John Fredrick (Fred) Coleman, 73, of Elko, Nevada, died Tuesday, July 15 in Elko. He was born May 18, 1935 in Prescott, Ariz., the son of Douglas V. Coleman and America Emily Coleman.

Mr. Coleman cowboyed, was a school bus driver and worked in mining. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding and watching bull riding.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Alberta Makela.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen M. Coleman; three daughters, Natalie Ann Pirtle, husband Willie of Elko, Nevada, Rebecca Jean Billington, husband Clayton of Bagdad and Dana Sue Nunemacher, husband Jarett of Lake Havasu City; four brothers, Vernon Coleman, wife Sheila of Cottonwod, Allen Coleman, wife Clara of Cottonwood, Raymond Coleman, wife Sally of Mountain View, Arkansas and Mike Coleman of Camp Verde; a sister Jean Dotson, husband Richard) of Cleveland, Utah; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

An hour of visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23 at the Westcott Funeral Home from 9 to 10 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery, Cottonwood, Ariz.
