Departed on Nov. 6, 2007 and resided in Cottonwood, Ariz.

Arlene Arla Thomas, 85, of Cottonwood died Nov. 26, 2007. She was born in Saginaw, Mich., on Nov. 6, 1922.

She was an active participant in the community: Presbyterian Women, Mary Kay, Girl Scouts (50 years), YFU, Verde Village Homeowners Assn. and the United Way to mention just a few. Arlene rarely said no. She and her husband traveled to all seven continents and recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her husband James Thomas; her daughters Virginia (Doug) Kellogg; Alicia (John) Zerba, Melody (Jerry) Murphy; brother Roger Spurr; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Dec. 1, 2 p.m., at the Verde Valley Presbyterian Church, 1500 E. Hombre Drive, Cottonwood, Arizona.
