Departed on July 23, 2007 and resided in Cottonwood, Ariz.

Luverne Rita Anne Hirsch Cash, 79, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2007.

She was born October 9, 1928 in Fargo, North Dakota to George M. and Ida Viola Hirsch. She attended kindergarten at Moorhead State Teachers College, eight years at St. Joseph's Parochial School, 2 years at Moorhead, Minnesota, Junior year at Fairmont, North Dakota, and graduated from St. Anne's Academy, Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was a member of the National Honor Society, and acted leading roles in the Junior and Senior Class Plays.

Rita was employed in Fargo, North Dakota as a clerk and court reporter for Judge P.M. Paulsen, County Court. Later, she worked for Rent Control, Veterans Administration, Allis Chalmers, Leslie Paper in Minneapolis, and a Family Physician in Kalispell, Montana. She was a member of the International Executive Secretarial Association. She retired in Kalispell, Montana in 1981.

On October 25, 1975, she married Michael J. Cash in Kalispell, Montana. After retirement, they moved to Cottonwood, Arizona.

She loved horses, raising and showing Arabians and Appaloosas. Rita was a Past Montana State Regent of the International Daughters of Isabella, a member of the Council of Catholic Women, Red Cross Grey lady, and Lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, Eagles, VFW National Home, American Legion, and Lady of the Valley Auxiliary to the Knights of Columbus. She was also a member of the Discipleship Program in Swan Lake, Montana; as well as, a member of the Mater Misericordiae Mission at St.Cecilia?s in Clarkdale, Arizona.

She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; her husband, and one sister. Rita leaves behind her brother, George Hirsch, wife, Helga of Colorado; and three sisters, Catherine Fritchman and Miriam Monson both of Minnesota; and Theresa Warren of Colorado.

The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will be holding services on Friday, July 27, 2007 with the Rosary to begin at 11:00 a.m. and the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:30 a.m. Immediately afterwards, Rita will be laid to rest at the All Souls Cemetery in Cottonwood.
