Havana, Ill. -- Ernest Woodard, 73, of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Havana, died Saturday, April 27, 1996, at his home.

Born Aug. 28, 1922, in Havana, Ill. to Frank and Della Leonard Woodard, he married Emily Goacher. She survives.

Also surviving are two sisters, Shirley Brewer of Peoria and Nora Collins of Springfield; one son, David of Vallejo, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran, serving in food service. He served in the Army for 20 years and was a chef at the Hotel Pere Marquette for several years.

He was a member of Prescott Christian Church, where a memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. today. Cremation has been accorded, and burial of cremains will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott, Ariz.

Arrangements are by Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott, Ariz.
