| The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Saturday, December 08, 2012 LaVerne (Toni) Wilbanks formerly of Manhattan Beach, California, passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day in Torrance, California of natural causes. Toni was born in Jacksonville, Florida, June 24, 1927. Toni was a switchboard receptionist at Manhattan Beach City Hall and Ron, her husband, was a Manhattan Beach Fire Fighter. In 1987, Toni and Ron retired and moved to Cornville, Arizona, where they were both active in support of the local fire department and Verde Valley Humane Society. Ron passed on March 21, 2008. Due to health considerations Toni relocated back to California in 2010, to be closer to her family. Toni is survived by her daughter, Sherry Adame and grandson, Matthew Adame.
