Mark R. Davis of Prescott, Ariz., died unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2006, at the age of 56.

Best described as an easygoing and genuine man, Mark had a great passion for education and technology. He enthusiastically held the position of Executive Vice President and General Manager at Commspeed Internet Company and was Vice President of the Prescott Computer Society. Mark was also a dynamic and active public speaker.

A lover of nature and hiking, he was instantly drawn to Prescott. He moved here with his family almost 10 years ago to escape the constant gray of the Detroit area. A day never passed that he didn't acknowledge his love for the community, with its rich history, beautiful views and forever blue skies.

Mark was a proud parent and grandparent, as well as a loving husband.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Veria; his mother Tina; brother Al; daughters Amber (husband John) and Penelope; sons Matthew and Ryan; grandson Vaughn and granddaughter Zoe.

An informal gathering of friends and family to celebrate Mark's life will take place at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon. The memorial service begins at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Prescott Public Library. A memorial fund is being established at the Library in Mark's name.

The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.

Information provided by survivors.
