Glenn W. Beeson passed away Wednesday, January 26th, 2005.

A service was held Monday, January 31st, 2005 at Hansen's Desert Hills Mortuary at 6500 E. Bell Road in Scottsdale.

Glenn was born on December 15, 1936 to George William and Adele Frances Hooker Lundgren Beeson in Elmhurst, IL.

He grew up in Chicago and graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1954. As a young man he participated in crew and wrestling as well as being an avid softball player. In his twenties he worked for IBM and served in the Naval Rerserve. He joined the Reserve in 1955 as a corpsman and served until 1963. In 1959 he moved to Phoenix and worked with Household Finance. He attended Phoenix College and graduated from ASU in 1965. He taught at Glendale High School from 1965 to 1992 where he was the English Department Chair, Senior Class Sponsor and was the commencement speaker for at least 15 graduating classes at Glendale.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Nancy and his beloved daughter, Cynthia and his only sister, Barbara Spielman.

He loved teaching literature and shared his passion for mythology and such classics as The Grapes of Wrath with the thousands of students who passed through room 251. Although he hated to admit it, he loved his extended family on his wife's side with whom he enjoyed camping and hiking. He was an avid reader and traveler, and above all he loved to make people think, and to make them laugh.
