Andre Guy Briere

Andre Guy Briere passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2005 after a brief illness.

He was born May 31, 1943 in Ontario, Canada to Rosaire and Jean Briere.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of almost 40 wonderful years of marriage. Other survivors include his son Andre and daughter-in-law Cathy and their children Andre and Reagan of RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom as well as a daughter Nicole and son-in-law Christjan and their sons Jack and Alex of Pleasanton.

Andre attended the University of San Fransisco and Arizona State University, and was a pioneer in the field of information technology. He held director and vice-president positions at GTE, Bon Marche, City of Seattle, City of Phoenix, Catholic and Samaritan Health Care, and AAA. At the time of his passing, he served as Director of Telecommunications for the State of Arizona. Andre was presented with the Award for Technical Excellence from Carnegie Mellon University. He served on the boards of the Society for Information Management, Goodwill Industries and the YMCA; he is also the former president of the Air Force Academy Parents Club and the Olympic Northwest Ballet Company.

Andre was a loving and treasured husband to Barbara and a devoted father to Andre and Nicole. They and their families were his real success in life. He adored his grandchildren; they were his passion and his joy. He was a dedicated friend and colleague and his wise and vibrant presence will be missed.

Andre's trust in God was absolute and insurmountable. His faith was the firm foundation of his marriage and for every other aspect of his life. He is deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate Andre's life on Saturday, July 9th, 2005 at The Neighborhood Church, 20600 John Drive, Castro Valley, CA 94546. Donations may be made to The Neighborhood Church, attn: Missions Fund.
