The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, February 2, 2006 Paul Husak, 97, of Prescott, passed away on Jan. 27,2006. He was born in Jimramov, Czechoslovakia, to Alois Husak and Anna Javornicky. When he was 3 years old, his family immigrated to the United States. Paul joined Trans World Airlines in 1930 as a meteorologist. From 1930-1935 he was a weather observer atop Jack's Mountain near Mt. Union, Pa. In 1935, Paul was transferred to Newark as a meteorologist and later to Los Angeles, Calif. as a flight dispatcher. He married Virginia Almond in 1961 and they retired to Prescott in 1975. After retiring Paul had more time for his favorite activities, including hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Prescott. Paul is survived by his wife, Virginia (Almond) Husak of Prescott; son Richard Husak of Hendersonville; N.C., son David Husak of Pinckney, Mich.; daughter Barbara Ditrich of Sherwood, Ark.; and daughter Paula Case of Phoenix. He also is survived by a brother, Alois Husak of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and a sister, Martha Merz of Sun City, Ariz. Paul has 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. No services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Prescott, P.O. Box 1020, Prescott, Ariz., 86302. Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
