Jessie Mae Morgan, known as "Mae" to her friends and family, died at age 87 on Jan. 26, 2006, at The Oaks Care Home in Prescott, Arizona.

She was born in Colgate, Okla., to Jesse and R. Ollie (Dees) Kent. She moved to California in 1938.

Mae Morgan was a long-time resident of Southern California, where with her husband, Elmer A. Morgan, Sr., she raised their four children.

During those years Mae was active in the First United Methodist Church of Fullerton, where she served as president of the Women's Society of Christian Service in 1968. Mae was also a member of the Eastern Star.

Mae moved to Prescott in 1972 when her husband was transferred by U.S. Motors. In 1974, she bought Flair Sportswear, located in downtown Prescott, and in 1977 she moved her clothing business to Ponderosa Plaza Mall, with a name change to "Mae's Fashions." In 1983, with the Prescott store established and doing well, Mae expanded with a new Mae's Fashions store, doing business in Hemet, Calif., until 1991.
After 27 years of store ownership, Mae retired in 2001 at the age of 82.

Mae Morgan is survived by her children, Carolyn Watt of Prescott, Ariz., Marsha Morgan of Woodinville, Wash., Margaret Morgan of Seattle, Wash., E. Arthur Morgan Jr., of Anaheim Hills, Calif; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mae will be buried beside her husband, Elmer, at Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea, Calif.
