Alfonso Ruiz Aguirre

Alfonso Ruiz Aguirre, 61, of Claypool, passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, in Mesa.

Born in Ray on Aug. 25, 1947 to Alfonso and Frances Ruiz Aguirre, he was a lifetime resident of the Copper Basin area. He was a carpenter and worked for Kennecott Copper Corporation and Asarco for 40 and was a member of the Carpenters’ Union.

He enjoyed softball, golfing and bowling and was a member of a bowling league.

Mr. Aguirre leaves behind his wife, Odelia Chavez Aguirre of Claypool; son, Leonard Aguirre of Claypool; daughter, Lisa (Nick) Garcia of Globe; father, Alfonso Aguirre of Globe; sister, Mary (Filberto) Borquez of Hayden; and grandchildren, Armando Garcia, Alicia Garcia and Matthew James Aguirre.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Dale Branson at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden. Griffith Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
