James Cleveland Jr., 70, of Phoenix died Sept. 24, 2006 in Mesa. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. The funeral will follow at 2, with Pastor Roy Edwards officiating. Mr. Cleveland was born June 3, 1936 in Greenville, Texas, and was a son of Clara Davis and James Cleveland Sr. He was a farm laborer. Survivors include three daughters, Jesse M. James, Lovie L. Taylor and Donna G. James, all of Arizona City; two stepdaughters, Ruthie and Emma Jones of Phoenix; two sisters, Mildred Williams of Casa Grande and Fannie M. Kelly of Coolidge; four brothers, Bill James of Dallas, Floyd James of Arizona City, Emmett James of Casa Grande and Ocie James of Tucson; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
