Jesus J. Manriquez

Jesus J. Manriquez, 78, passed away at his home in Dudleyville on Jan. 14, [2009]. A lifetime resident of the area, he was born Dec. 25, 1930 in Hayden Junction.

He worked for Kennecott Copper and ASARCO as a heavy equipment operator, retiring at age 62. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Manriquez enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and horseback riding. He was an avid Arizona Cardinals fan. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandsons participate in football and baseball games. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.

Mr. Manriquez is survived by his wife, Maria of Dudleyville; sons, Michael (Maggie) Manriquez of Dudleyville and Frank (Lisa) Davila of Nevada; daughter, Nellie Fry of Kearny; 17 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His sister, Antonia, preceded him in death.

A visitation and Rosary were held Saturday, Jan. 17, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden. Father Dale Branson celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial and interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden with the Ray High School ROTC performing military honors.
