Janice Ann (Oxenrider) Larson

Janice Ann Larson, age 68, of Sun Lakes, passed away January 30, 2007.

Preceded in death by her mother Sophia, sister Donna and brother Kenneth. She is survived by her husband Richard, sisters Betty Wiltfang (Arlo) of Tucson and Kathryn Kolden (Rob) of Houston, TX; 4 stepchildren, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Janice was born on January 19, 1939 in Ellendale, N.D. She attended and graduated in May of 1957 from Aberdeen Central High School in Aberdeen, S.D. She also graduated from Mesa Community College and Arizona State University in 1981 where she earned her bachelor's degree in business management while she worked for the United Way of Tempe, AZ for 8 years.

After 20 years of service as Chief Financial Officer for the Boy Scouts of America, she retired in 2004. Her greatest passions were spending time with her cats and sitting on the beach in San Diego listening to the sounds of the peaceful ocean. She loved to sit by the lake at home on her patio sipping her wine and enjoying the ducks. Janice greatly enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren teaching them the ways of life.

We are all greatful for the time we had with her and she will be missed immensely.

Visitation was held on Friday. Funeral services were held on Sat. Feb. 3, 2007 at Bueler Mortuary. Chapel service and interment at Evergreen Mortuary and Cemetery in Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred in her name to the Arizona Animal Welfare League, 30 North 40th Place Phoenix, AZ 85034-1802. Arrangements by Bueler Mortuary.
