Herman Mattison Fry

Herman Mattison Fry, 67, passed away at his home in Kearny on Tuesday, April 3, 2007.

He was born in Emanuel, Kentucky, on June 11, 1939, and worked for many years as a brakeman and then conductor for the Southern Pacific and the mine railroads. He always loved the relationship with railroading.

Mr. Fry was a reserve officer with the National Guard for three years. He liked hunting and camping.

Survivors are his wife, Manuela; son, Herman Jr. (Veronica) of San Manuel; daughters, Barbie (Abe) Romero and Dollie (David) Perez, both of Dudleyville, and Maria Fry of Kearny; brother, William of Michigan; sisters, Rose Todd, Shirley Hukill and Frances Workman; 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was conducted for Mr. Fry on Monday, April 9, at Griffith Mortuary.
