David Daniel Doucet

David Daniel Doucet, of Boulder, died of natural causes Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, in Boulder. He was 77.

He was born Nov. 10, 1927, in Los Angeles to Abraham Henry Doucet and Minnie Elizabeth Figueroa. He married Theresa J. Hulse on March 10, 1956, in Phoenix.

Mr. Doucet graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in education counseling and guidance. He was a member of the school's tennis team and Lambda Alpha fraternity.

He was an elementary school principal, teacher and educator. He also served in the Navy during World War II and in the Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Doucet lived in Boulder since 1962.

His interests included traveling, camping, tennis, swimming, biking, hiking, golf and the arts. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross disaster services. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church, where he was a choir member.

"He loved taking care of his 'three girls.' With them he was patient, supportive and unflappable. He loved his Lord and God's word," his family said.

Survivors included his wife, Theresa J. Doucet, of Boulder; two daughters, Michelle Doucet-Zimberg, of Boulder, and Celeste Boyer, of Sammamish, Wash.; and a granddaughter.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Bible Evangelical Free Church, 3245 Kalmia Ave., Boulder.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be contributed in Mr. Doucet's name to Cross Bar X Youth Ranch, 2111 County Road, Durango, CO 81303.
