The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, December 1, 1971 Gene V. Collins Gene V. Collins, 62, of 147 Josephine St., Prescott, Ariz., died Saturday, Oct. 30, while hunting near Drake, Ariz. Mr. Collins, who ws the City Building Director for the City of Prescott for the last nine years, was born October 4, 1909 at Nacogdoches, Texas. He moved to Arizona from Los Cruces, N.M. in 1960 and to Prescott from Tucson, Ariz., in 1962. He was a member of the BPOE # 330 and was a Past Trustee of that lodge. Mr. Collins was a member of the Smoki People, Past President of the ICOB of Arizona, Past President of IAPMO and was a member of the Arizona Plumbing Association. Survivors include his wife, Edith, and a daughter Patricia Kay, of Prescott, two other daughters, Mrs. Robbie Houston of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Beth Christie of Minneapolis, Minn.; six sons, Frank Lee of Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff, Ariz., Ernest of San Angelo, Texas, John F. of Silver City, N.M., Jerry of Thatcher, Ariz., Thomas of Las Cruces, N.M. and Eddie of Baudette, Minn., and one sister, Mrs. Lorena Carroll of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 22 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Ruffner Funeral Home, with Rev. Frederic James of the First Congreational Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, Prescott, Ariz., with members of the Elks Lodge # 330 conducting graveside services. Friends may call at the Ruffner Funeral Home 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3rd. |
